We spent the last weekend in the magical national park called Yosemite, located 200 miles east of us. It was a nice break we all needed. While in the mountains, Ivan's Blackberry ceased to recieve data, so he could no longer read his email (yay for no work!), and Becca could no longer switch channels on TV while doing her online job, since there is no wireless internet in the Yosemite Valley. Maks also enjoyed the break from the confines of our small Silicon Valley home, and he experienced huge waterfalls and miles of open space for the first time in his life. I wish you all could see him look around in amazement at new horizons he never before imagined. Finally, our 1 year old Camry experienced frost on its windows for the first time ever. We all enjoyed many opportunities to hike, to sleep, to drive around on windy roads, to see amazing waterfalls that are at its peak volume right now, to take lots of pictures and to simply enjoy the breathtaking views and crisp alpine air of this Paradise in the Sierra mountains.
Below is one of the memorable moments of the trip. As Saturday was coming to an end, we were finishing our hike from the Mirror Lake (2 miles round trip), but Maks could no longer handle the strains of his first outdoors experience. He turned himself off completely and fell into deep sleep, despite the fact that he was hanging from Becca's backpack while she was walking and talking to me. It was one of those moments in life when I felt very lucky to have my camera nearby.

When you guys come visit us, we'd love to take you there. I know Maks and Riley will have blast running around.
Maks looks so precious when he sleeps. That's awesome you got to take a break from the busy world.
Does it get any sweeter? Becca you look georgeous as always.
I totally agree with 'the cooks' not sure who they are but they are right on. You guys ALWAYS do cool stuff. I think I'm going to start copying you. I am totally going camping once Jackie is a tad older...maybe when he will sleep or something? P.S. I'm ready ready for the tootsie rub whenever you are...
What a beautiful place--I've always wanted to go there! Your pictures are amazing, as usual!
